General Motors Announces Upcoming Release of Next-Generation Chevrolet Bolt

GM’s New Version of Bolt EV Coming Soon

GM’s popular and affordable EV, the Bolt, is undergoing improvements to address its outdated battery cell technology and factory renovations. However, there is good news for EV enthusiasts as GM has announced the upcoming release of a new version of the Bolt.

The specifics about the new Bolt are yet to be disclosed by the company, and we will have to wait until later this year for more information. Nevertheless, GM faced a $792 million charge due to a new partnership agreement with LG, a cost resulting from GM’s commitment to unconventional customer solutions.

In the first half of 2023, GM successfully manufactured approximately 50,000 EVs in North America. The company now aims to double this production target for the second half of the year, with a long-term plan to achieve a manufacturing capacity of 1 million EVs by 2025.
