Pokémon TCG has recently unveiled the highly anticipated Zapdos Special Illustration Rare ex from Pokémon Card 151. This card showcases the full Legendary Bird trio of Kanto in a stunning artwork.

Pokémon TCG Japan has provided details about the upcoming expansion set called Pokémon Card 151. This new set focuses on the original 151 Pokémon introduced in the Kanto region. Fans will be excited to learn that this set marks the return of Kadabra after 21 years of absence from the Pokémon TCG. The absence was due to a legal dispute between magician Uri Geller and the Pokémon Company over the design of Kadabra. However, Geller has since withdrawn his complaint, leading to the reintroduction of Kadabra in this new expansion. Another notable aspect of this set is its order, which follows the Pokédex order instead of the usual type-based ordering. The Japanese release of this set is scheduled for June 16th, but there is currently no information about the English-language release. It is speculated that this set may be the first special set of the Scarlet & Violet era for English-language collectors, but only time will tell. Now, let’s delve into the details of another Special Illustration Rare card from this set.

The Zapdos Special Illustration Rare ex showcases the iconic Legendary Birds of Kanto: Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltres. These majestic creatures are depicted soaring together in a breathtaking artwork created by the talented artist Shiburingaru. The design of this card evokes the nostalgia of the “Hidden Fates” set, which featured alternate art GX cards of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. Shiburingaru’s previous works in the “Sword & Shield – Brilliant Stars” expansion have already captivated fans with their artistic excellence.

Japanese Pokémon sets often provide insights into what we can expect in English-language sets. Therefore, it’s worth keeping an eye on our coverage for future updates.
