Studio Wildcard has made an exciting announcement regarding the highly anticipated game, Ark: Survival Ascended. The remaster of the popular 2015 title, Ark: Survival Evolved, has been delayed and will now be released in October 2023. Gamers can look forward to experiencing the improved version on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
According to Studio Wildcard, the delay is due to the team’s endeavors with Unreal Engine 5.2. While this has proven to be a challenging process, the developers are thrilled about the possibilities it presents. In a statement, they explained, “We’re discovering new ways each day to push the technology to the next level; combined with the work needed to support a fully cross-platform-moddable game ecosystem on consoles and PC, it’s clear that we’ll need a bit more time.”
Additionally, players can expect some exciting content in the form of DLC expansions. The Island expansion will be included with the remastered game, while the remaster of the Scorched Earth expansion has been delayed until December. The Ragnarok and Abberation expansions are set to launch in the first quarter of 2024, with the remaining maps following suit.
As for pricing details, Ark: Survival Ascended will be available for early access at $45, with a launch discount price of $40. Originally, the servers for Ark: Survival Evolved were scheduled to go offline in August, making way for Ark: Survival Ascended. However, due to the delay, the servers will now be shut down on September 30.
In addition to Ark: Survival Ascended, Studio Wildcard is also working on a sequel, Ark 2. This highly anticipated sequel is set to launch at the end of 2024 and will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Moreover, gamers can look forward to seeing actor Vin Diesel featured in the game. Ark 2 will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
