Sending high-quality videos on WhatsApp will soon be possible

Earlier this month, WhatsApp initiated testing for the feature that allows sending high-definition (HD) photos to beta testers on Android and iOS. Now, WhatsApp is expanding its testing to include the ability to send HD videos, but this feature is currently only available to a select group of Android beta users.

According to WABetaInfo, a new feature has been integrated into the drawing editor of the app, enabling users to send high-quality HD videos. When sending a video, you will notice an HD button at the top of the message box. By pressing this button, you will have the option to choose between sending the video in standard quality or HD quality.

By default, WhatsApp compresses videos to standard quality, but with the HD option, you can choose to send them in higher quality, albeit with some compression. While the HD version may not be the original quality, it still offers a significantly improved viewing experience. For instance, the standard quality video size is 416 x 880 pixels and 6.3MB, whereas the HD quality video size is 608 x 1296 pixels and 12MB.

It’s important to note that when sending videos on WhatsApp, the default video quality will likely remain standard definition. To send videos in HD, you will need to manually select the HD option, just as you would when sending HD photos.

The description while sending videos on WhatsApp states, “HD quality is clearer. Standard quality uses less storage space and is faster to send.”

The HD video feature is currently available in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.14.10. If you are part of the WhatsApp beta program, you can easily update to the latest version and start using this feature.

In addition to the HD video feature, WhatsApp has also rolled out a new capability for Windows desktop users. They can now make video and audio calls with up to 32 people, an increase from the previous limit of 8 participants for group video calls and 32 participants for audio calls on the desktop app.

Please note that the content has been written and optimized for better readability and search engine optimization (SEO).
