Mount’s performance brings a human element to Pike’s character, highlighting his struggles with guilt and mortality, which only showcase his moral character even further. Pike is the paragon of Starfleet’s ideals, approachable, and a boss you’d love to have. And to top it off, he’s a great cook with fabulous hair.
