Chris Pratt has become the latest star to have two different movies spend consecutive weekends at the top of the domestic box office. Despite being a polarizing A-lister, Pratt takes top billing in both The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. In an interview with Page Six, Pratt used a biblical analogy, referencing John 15:18 through 20, to explain how he deals with adversity: “2,000 years ago they hated Jesus, too. Like a rhino, stick your head down, you keep driving forward, you have thick skin and if anyone gets in your way, you stick the horn right up their ass!”
Regardless of his beliefs, Pratt’s success at the box office cannot be denied, even though the success of both movies cannot be solely attributed to him.
“If I was of this world, they would love me just like that but as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world.”
Pratt is smart and self-aware enough to know that he has his fair share of trolls and haters, but he doesn’t let them get in his way, opting instead to stick to his beliefs and use biblical teachings to stay focused.
