Redmagic introduces MagSafe-compatible liquid cooling attachment for phones

Redmagic, a Chinese sub-brand by Nubia known for making fast devices like gaming smartphones and GaN chargers, has launched a portable liquid cooling radiator for smartphones. The brand made some huge claims for its new cooler, which is to be expected since they’ve been doing this for five generations now.

The Redmagic VC Cooler 5 Pro is a 100g liquid-cooled VC radiator that combines a thermoelectric cooler (36 x 36mm), a seven-bladed fan (5,500 RPM), and heat-conductive acetone to provide dramatic heat dissipation for smartphones, especially during intense use (gaming sessions). 

Redmagic said that the radiator can cool phones up to 35°C, with the radiator itself able to reach -12°C at its lowest. It’s also fast, as the brand claims rapid cooling from 28°C to 0°C in just 30 seconds.

For maximum compatibility between both iOS and Android phones, Redmagic VC Cooler 5 Pro offers an Apple iPhone MagSafe-compatible magnetic attachment (16N magnetic force), on top of a back clip that doubles as a phone stand. The accessory comes with a magnetic sticker, a handle, and a 5A data-capable cable inside the box.

The device is also compatible with Redmagic’s Goper app (Google Play Store only) for future temperature control adjustments.

The accessory is designed to look like Redmagic’s 150W GaN charger. Redmagic said it’s also part of its growing Redmagic DAO sub-sub-branding, which features “transparent cyberpunk” motifs and aesthetics in its products and accessories. The VC Cooler 5 Pro has a spray-etched transparent shell and RGB lighting to highlight the radiator’s internals.

Redmagic VC Cooler 5 Pro is officially available in Singapore through the official Redmagic online store for S$88 from 15 April 2024 onwards.
