Shield Drum is a useful tool for drawing aggro, and fighters can further enhance their defense by obtaining the skill ring for perfect defense. Their augments are also focused on improving their defensive capabilities by boosting their health and making it easier to execute perfect blocks. While being a highly defensive class, fighters are great for pawns to support you, but as a player class, they can sometimes leave you with periods of inactivity during battles.

8. Magick Archer: Magick Archers combine the mobility of striders with the utility of mages. They can wield the daggers of striders or the staffs of mages, along with a magic bow that possesses unique skills. The magic bow does not require arrows and instead utilizes bolts that seek out their targets under the guidance of magic. Thanks to these seeking attacks, Magick Archers can precisely place elemental attacks exactly where they are needed. Additionally, the skill set allows them to use magic attacks with daggers and gain a single new spell with the staff. They may struggle against enemies with high magic resistances, but Magick Archers have surprisingly high magic resistance themselves. Mages also have fast casting times for their spells, making them efficient in combat. However, the most notable feature that sets them apart from other classes is their exclusive access to healing spells. Having a mage in your party who can heal is crucial for optimal gameplay, as support plays a significant role in constructing a balanced RPG party composition.

6. Warrior: Warriors are the advanced version of the fighter class, sacrificing the versatility of shields for larger weapons. They wield immense weapons that may slow them down but deliver powerful blows with each strike. One of the unique attributes of the warrior class is their increased resistance against being knocked down or staggered, which is crucial when their attacks require ample time to charge up. With their bow, assassins have the option to attack from a distance and debilitate foes. For those attempting a solo run, assassins gain bonuses when traveling alone.

4. Sorcerer: Sorcerers are the primary spellcasters in Dragon’s Dogma, employing powerful staves to unleash devastating magic that can decide the outcome of battles in a single strike. Their basic attacks are similar to those of mages, and they possess access to all the same attack spells. However, sorcerers are chosen for their ability to summon the most destructive spells in the game, even though these spells require significant casting times, ranging from minutes to execute. Due to their low physical defense, sorcerers are vulnerable when alone and are prone to being overrun by enemies. However, when multiple sorcerers work together, casting times can be reduced. Nevertheless, a cohesive team is necessary to fully exploit the potential of a sorcerer.

Daggers grant striders the ability to perform a second jump and execute a forward dodge roll. Striders excel in combat against larger enemies, as they possess exceptional stamina for sprinting and climbing, allowing them to ascend their foes and strike their weak points. Climbing ability is a unique strength of striders, unmatched by any other class. In suitable environments, striders ascend ledges swiftly with minimal stamina consumption. The Leg-Strength augment enables striders to carry more equipment without compromising mobility, which is their greatest asset. However, striders lack defensive capabilities.

2. Mystic Knight: Mystic Knights are hybrid warriors that combine elements from both fighters and mages. They wield swords and magic shields to enable casting abilities. Among all the classes in Dragon’s Dogma, Mystic Knights are the most effective team players while remaining self-sufficient. Their skills allow them to heal themselves when on the defensive and exploit enemy weaknesses when on the offense. Unlike other fighter classes, Mystic Knights possess ranged attacks through their use of staffs and the Magic Cannon ability. Additionally, they can support their team by infusing weapons with special effects. As a Mystic Knight, you possess the versatility to handle any threat independently but not as effectively as specialized classes. Nonetheless, as a class exclusive to the Arisen, the Mystic Knight makes an excellent leader for a well-rounded team.
