Quordle, one of the many Wordle clones, has managed to capture my attention even after 18 months since the word-game craze took the internet by storm. Quordle FAQs: Everything You Need to Know

What is Quordle?
Quordle presents you with four puzzles to solve, unlike Wordle, which challenges you to guess a new five-letter word each day. The rules are similar, but you have nine guesses instead of six. You can play Quordle online through its website or via the Merriam-Webster site since they acquired the game last year. Just like Wordle, the answers are the same for all players worldwide, creating some healthy competition. The puzzles reset at midnight, giving you a fresh challenge each day. The website also offers a practice mode, useful for beginners, daily stats including a streak count, and Quordle Achievements for various accomplishments in the game. Be warned, it’s no walk in the park, Quordle is truly challenging.

What are the Quordle rules?
The rules of Quordle closely resemble those of Wordle:

1. Correct letters in the right place turn green.
2. Correct letters in the wrong place turn yellow.
3. Incorrect letters turn gray.
4. Remember that the same word can have different colored letters in different quadrants.
5. Answers are always singular, not plural.
6. Letters may appear multiple times.
7. Each guess must be a valid word in Quordle’s dictionary.
8. Subsequent guesses don’t have to include correct letters, and there’s no Hard mode.
9. You have nine guesses to find the Quordle answers.
10. Complete the daily Quordle before midnight in your timezone.

What is a good Quordle strategy?
Approach Quordle strategically to improve your chances of success. Here are two key tips:

1. Start with multiple words:
Besides one strong starting word, consider using two or three starting words. The first word should be one of the best Wordle starting words, as they work well in Quordle too. Then, select another word or two that utilize the most common consonants and include any remaining vowels. For example, I use STARE > DOILY > PUNCH, which covers 15 letters of the alphabet, including the five vowels, Y, and nine commonly used consonants. You can choose other options as well, including additional consonants like M, B, F, or G. This approach gives you a head start in finding one or possibly two of the answers.

2. Think strategically:
With limited guesses and four puzzles to solve, blindly guessing won’t lead to success in Quordle. Think strategically and make educated guesses based on the information revealed in each puzzle. Adapt your approach with each guess to narrow down the possibilities and make progress.

Good luck with your Quordle endeavors!
