Xiaomi has recently launched its two new Mi TVs in India. In addition, they also launched their first Soundbar in India which will be available from January 15, 12 noon onwards. After introducing Mi TVs in India which are far cheaper than other TVs with the same specifications, Xiaomi has now entered in the race of Audio Home Entertainment Devices.
The new Mi Soundbar is the first Home Audio Device by Xiaomi which comes with amazing features and delivers great sound quality. The best thing about this Soundbar is its Market price. Like its Mi TV, the new Mi Soundbar is also available at a budget price of ₹ 4,999 which is a justified price for this Soundbar. Mi Soundbar has eight drivers, out of which there are two 20mm dome tweeters, two 2.5” woofers designed for mids and the rest four are passive radiators for bass and low-frequency sounds.
© XiaomiAs for its connectivity options is concerned, the new Mi Soundbar is packed with Line-in, Optical, Aux, and S/PDIF inputs. Also, it comes with a Bluetooth Connectivity, so you can also play your audio from on this Soundbar by pairing it with any of your Device which has Bluetooth Connectivity either be it your Mobile, TV or your PC. Also, you get an option to mount this soundbar on the wall, Thanks to Xiaomi who sends its screws with the package itself.

While buying a Soundbar or any other audio device we all have our first priority is its sound quality. As buying any audio device which didn’t have a good sound quality doesn’t make a sense. But in the case of Mi Soundbar, Xiaomi didn’t compromise in any way with the Sound Quality of their Soundbar. We have gone through its each and every segment and tested it on every aspect.
We had played some high-end music over it and really it sounds awesome. It produces crystal clear sound with every sound in a detailed manner. Starting from its base quality, those two 2.5” woofers and four passive radiators produce deep bass and offer a balanced sound.
Also, to review it closer, we watched Transformer Age of Extinction Movie which has some amazing mixture of Sound. And guess what? It delivers an amazing sound which is far enough to fill an entire room. At this price, this is a perfect companion for our TV to get an amazing theatre like experience. This MI Soundbar has a frequency range from 50 Hz – 25000 Hz ( -10 dB) with an impedance of 6 ohms. This is quite interesting in this price range.
© XiaomiSince this soundbar comes with a variety of inputs methods, but as per our tests we recommend you to use RCA option as it offers the best audio output. As we mentioned above, you also get Bluetooth Connectivity but while using this soundbar over Bluetooth Connectivity, you may feel the variation in sound quality in comparison to that of other Wired methods.
Flaws of Mi Soundbar
Although Mi Soundbar is great budget-friendly Home Audio Device with amazing sound quality, it has few flaws too. The new Mi Soundbar doesn’t come with a remote, so you have to select the source manually by pressing buttons given on the soundbar. Also, you can’t adjust its volume right from your TV remote, you only have an option to adjust it manually, this is a bit irritating as you have to get up every single time you want to adjust its volume. However, you can control its volume only when it is connected to your phone over Bluetooth Connection. But as we previously said, if you will play your audio over Bluetooth connection, you may feel some variation in sound quality. So, we may expect from Xiaomi to have an IR/ App integration in the upcoming models.

This is one of the best soundbars which you can get in this minimal budget. However, there are many other alternatives which deliver better performance than this, but to get them you have to pay higher for that. So, if you want to buy a soundbar and expecting good sound quality from it under a budget, you must go for it. Apart from its unavailability of Remote and some sound adjustment issue, its a worth buy product from Xiaomi.
