Sam Hargrave, the director of the highly anticipated Extraction 2, is open to suggestions for a potential third installment in the explosive franchise.

During an interview with Collider, Hargrave expressed his excitement about the idea of setting the next movie in Tokyo. He enthusiastically welcomed the concept:

“Yeah, I mean, just putting Tyler in a place like that seems like putting a bull in a China shop. I love it. Send me an email, we’ll pass it down the line, we’ll get it on the list. There’s a long list of places that we could possibly go, I’m sure Tokyo is already there. Let’s move it to the top, how about that?”

Hargrave is a multi-talented entertainer, known for his work as a stunt coordinator on various Russo brothers’ projects such as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. He has also choreographed stunts for major films like The Hunger Games, Suicide Squad, Atomic Blonde, and Deadpool 2. Hargrave made a seamless transition from Marvel to the Star Wars universe as a second-unit director for The Mandalorian.

Despite receiving mixed reviews upon its release on April 24, 2020, Extraction achieved record-breaking success on Netflix, capturing the attention of 99 million viewers within four weeks and becoming one of the streaming giant’s most-watched original films.

The sequel follows Rake as he leaves retirement in Austria to embark on a high-stakes rescue mission in Georgia. This time, the lives of his former sister-in-law and her family are at stake. With Extraction 2 exceeding expectations in terms of critical acclaim and commercial success, Netflix wasted no time in announcing a third installment in the franchise.

Proving that retirement is overrated for characters like Tyler Rake, the upcoming third entry in the series is sure to bring excitement as audiences wonder if Rake will find himself in Tokyo in the next chapter of his story.
