Batman: The Adventures Continue: Season Three #6 by Alan Burnett, Paul Dini and Ty Templeton maintains the Batman: The Animated Series continuity into the world of comic books. This issue brings Batman face-to-face with Ra’s al Ghul and Talia al Ghul. However, things don’t go smoothly as Ra’s al Ghul contemplates his mortality after living for numerous years.
Amidst the discussions of death, the theme of new life emerges as Talia al Ghul tries to convince Batman to take over her father’s role. Her persuasive skills are remarkable.
Could this issue serve as the origin story of Damian Wayne in the Batman: The Animated Series? Damian Wayne, the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul, first appeared in 1987’s Batman: Son of the Demon by Mike W. Barr and Jerry Bingham. He was later reintroduced and reinvented as Damian al Ghul or Damian Wayne by Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert. Damian went on to become the new Robin and a prominent character in his own right. Although Damian has already appeared in the DC Animated Movie Universe and is set to be featured in the Brave And The Bold TV series, Paul Dini may be planning a long-term strategy to introduce him into the original DCAU through this comic.
