Broadband ISP Squirrel Internet Joins Freedom Fibre’s UK Network

Alternative network operator Freedom Fibre, which has so far deployed their gigabit-capable full fibre (FTTP) broadband network to cover 285,000 UK premises (21st Dec 2023) – mostly in the North West of England, has today announced the addition of a third retail ISP to their growing wholesale platform with Squirrel Internet.

Until recently, consumers covered by the operators new Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) infrastructure could only get connected by taking a package from existing partner TalkTalk, although this changed after the Fusion Fibre Group (formerly FACTCO) joined the network as an additional option and now Squirrel Internet has followed.

Marie Danby, Freedom Fibre’s Customer Operations Director, said: “We are really excited to welcome Squirrel Internet as another partner delivering full-fibre services to homes in the North West via our XGS-PON network. Squirrel’s commitment to delivering excellent services to their customers aligns with our own commitment to delivering the fastest and most reliable broadband services available.”

The network operator has also indicated that more ISPs will soon be joining up to harness their broadband network.
