Airtel, a prominent Indian telecom company, has recently been awarded the Cloud and CDN mandate from the Digital India Corporation (DIC) to power DIKSHA (Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing), which is India’s national open education digital content platform supervised by the Ministry of Education (MoE). As a result of this mandate, Airtel is now the exclusive partner for managing DIKSHA’s online platforms across its mobile app and website. The DIKSHA app and website will now be powered by Airtel Cloud and be accessible to students across the country in their preferred Indian language. Airtel Cloud will lead the migration of DIKSHA to Oracle Cloud and offer managed services as well as CDN solutions. Praveen Agarwal, Head of government business at Airtel, expressed enthusiasm to partner with the Ministry of Education, stating that the platform has already witnessed over 50 billion learning sessions and 60 billion minutes of usage, making it one of the largest free education platforms worldwide.
The Digital India Corporation is committed to enhancing the lives of citizens by providing access to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Launched in 2017 by the Ministry of Education, DIKSHA aims to provide free quality e-content, including e-textbooks and audiobooks, to all teachers and learners across India.
