Actress Ayo Edebiri Avoids Disney Surveillance While Contemplating Marvel’s ‘Thunderbolts’ Character in ‘The Bear’

The Bear star Ayo Edebiri has confirmed her role in Marvel’s highly anticipated film, Thunderbolts set to hit theaters in 2024. In a recent comedic roundtable interview, Edebiri was asked by The Hollywood Reporter if her Marvel casting represented reaching the pinnacle of her career. Edebiri humorously evaded answering the question directly due to Marvel’s strict confidentiality policies, stating “Oh yeah, uh-huh, maybe…I got a call. And I think it’s great. But the pinnacle for me would be to make my own things.”

Despite her upcoming role in Thunderbolts, which has yet to have her character name released, Edebiri expressed her passion for being involved in collaborative and creatively challenging independent projects. As Edebiri explained, “I’m developing my own shows, and I have ideas in this weird little head of mine. I love collaborating and I love watching things that are challenging and make me feel things.”

The highly anticipated Thunderbolts film, featuring characters such as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross played by Harrison Ford, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Red Guardian played by David Harbour, Yelena Belova played by Florence Pugh, and The Sentry played by Steven Yeun, is currently in production and set to release on July 26, 2024.
