Release Day for Street Fighter 6 Sees Rashid Causing Unintended Chaos

The highly anticipated debut of Rashid Of The Turbulent Wind, the first post-launch addition to Street Fighter 6’s roster, has finally arrived. Now available to all players with the Year 1 Character Pass, Rashid’s entrance, however, has been met with controversy due to his overwhelming power.

For those unfamiliar with the character, Rashid made his debut in Street Fighter V as part of the game’s original roster. Armed with the power of the wind, he possesses a versatile arsenal of wind-based attacks, including the ability to swiftly navigate through the air and launch tornadoes as projectiles.

Unfortunately, it appears that one of his super attacks, Ysaar, has proven to be more potent than anticipated, even for Capcom. As demonstrated in a video shared by professional fighting game player Justin Wong, the massive tornado unleashed by Rashid persists indefinitely, allowing the player to continuously chip away at the opponent’s health until they are defeated.

Acknowledging the issue, Capcom has released a statement via official Street Fighter social media accounts addressing the concern. The statement reads, “We are aware of the prolonged on-screen presence of Ysaar with Rashid and are currently investigating the matter.” At present, no information regarding a patch or hotfix has been provided.

Street Fighter 6 is currently available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. The Year 1 Character Pass includes new addition A.K.I., alongside returning fighters Ed and Akuma. It can be purchased separately or as part of the SF6 Deluxe and Ultimate editions.
