Academy Award-nominated actress Zoe Saldaña leads an impressive cast of A-listers in the newly released poster of Taylor Sheridan‘s upcoming spy series, Special Ops: Lioness, showcasing a formidable team assembled to take down a terrorist group.
Set against the backdrop of a real-life U.S. military mission, Special Ops: Lioness subverts the typical male-led action genre by featuring women in charge instead. Saldaña portrays Joe, a member of the armed forces, thrust into a covert operation that risks not only her life but also that of her loved ones. With the spotlight on them and a target in their sights, Joe and her team must prevent their plans from getting into the wrong hands.
The action-packed poster features Saldaña standing tall among her co-stars, including Nicole Kidman (as Kaitlyn Meade, head of the Lioness Program), Morgan Freeman (as U.S. Secretary of State, Edwin Mullins), Michael Kelly (as CIA Deputy Director, Byron Westfield), and Laysla De Oliveira (as Marine Cruz, aiding Joe on the mission). The background elements include the US Capitol building, an American flag, and classified documents.
Taylor Sheridan, the creator of the successful Yellowstone franchise, co-created Special Ops: Lioness with Jill Wagner. Sheridan will also serve as the showrunner, his first project since announcing the end of Yellowstone, while Paul Cameron of Westworld and Anthony Byrne of Peaky Blinders will direct select episodes. The executive producers include Saldaña, Kidman, and Wagner, as well as Bob Yari, Ron Burkle, John Hillcoat, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Malone, David C. Glasser, and David Hutkin.
Keep an eye out for Special Ops: Lioness, as no specific release date has been announced yet.
