Vi (Vodafone Idea) India has joined forces with Truecaller to ensure secure and reliable communication for its users. This partnership was officially announced on July 13th. The main objective is to protect users from customer service fraud while providing trusted communication. In recent times, there has been a surge in customer service frauds. As a result, the telecom company has teamed up with Truecaller to assist users in identifying spam calls. Furthermore, Truecaller already offers a Verified Business Solution that displays brand identity and context about business calls.
Vi has unveiled its collaboration with Truecaller to aid users in recognizing fraudulent calls and spam messages. Through this partnership, Truecaller’s Verified Business Caller ID solution has been integrated with Vi’s customer service and sales team to create a secure customer communication experience. This integration also assists users in identifying legitimate calls from Vi’s customer service platform. These calls are distinguished by a green caller ID, an unalterable brand name and logo, a verified business badge, a category tag, and the reason for the call.
In addition, Truecaller’s Verified Business Solution provides brand identity and context for business calls. According to the company’s statement, this feature has already been beneficial for over 2000+ active businesses across India and other global markets.
India is one of the largest markets for Truecaller. The company boasts over 350 million active users and has been downloaded more than a billion times since its launch. In 2021 alone, Truecaller has identified and blocked nearly 50 billion unwanted calls.
Last month, the company reintroduced call recording support on its app for smartphones. This feature was previously only available on Android smartphones but was discontinued when Google cracked down on apps utilizing an API intended for accessibility features to record calls. However, the service has now been rolled out for both iPhones and Android smartphones.
