Charging for TweetDeck, a previously free tool widely used by businesses and news organizations for content monitoring, could potentially boost Twitter’s revenue. This move comes as Twitter has struggled to retain advertising revenue under the ownership of billionaire Elon Musk.
This decision follows Musk’s recent announcement that both verified and unverified users would have limited daily post allowances to combat data scraping and system manipulation. It received backlash from Twitter users and ad experts, who believe it could undermine the new CEO, Linda Yaccarino, who assumed her role last month.
Individuals will need to pay $8 per month to verify their accounts, while organizations will pay $1,000 per month.
