Introducing the New and Familiar Faces in Mortal Kombat 1
As a long-time player of Mortal Kombat, I thought I knew all the characters. However, there are some names that slipped my mind, and one of them is Li Mei. Curiosity led me to the Mortal Kombat Fandom wiki for a refresher on this forgotten fighter.
Even after reading Li Mei’s bio, she doesn’t ring a bell. But it seems we’ll meet her in Mortal Kombat 1, along with the returning character, Tanya, who I recognize from Mortal Kombat X. Both fighters are featured prominently in the latest trailer from NetherRealm, alongside the fan-favorite Baraka.
With the game’s release still a few weeks away, NetherRealm has decided to confirm the numerous DLC rumors surrounding the game. In a second trailer released on Friday, the developer unveiled the lineup for what appears to be the first Kombat Pack:
- Omni-Man (Invincible)
- Homelander (The Boys)
- Peacemaker (Peacemaker, Suicide Squad)
- Quan Chi (Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm)
- Ermac (Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3)
- Takeda (Mortal Kombat X)
Mortal Kombat 1 will be released on September 14 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch. The pricing and release schedule for the Kombat Pack have yet to be revealed, but you can secure the six featured fighters by purchasing the Premium or Kollector’s Edition.
