The Unprecedented Nvidia GPU: A Colossal Enigma

A mysterious and monstrous quad-slot Nvidia GPU prototype has been revealed through new photos. This unnamed beast, which resembles more of a cooler than a GPU due to the absence of a PCB, has sparked speculation about whether it is Nvidia’s next Titan GPU or the RTX 4090 Ti.

An individual named ExperteVallah shared these photos on Twitter, comparing the massive prototype to a regular-sized GPU. The leaker suggests it could be the RTX Titan Ada, but there are doubts surrounding its actual identity.

Speculation about this mysterious GPU has been swirling, with some referring to it as the RTX 4090 Ti and others mentioning the RTX Titan Ada. The latter was rumored to feature impressive specifications, such as 48GB of memory and a 384-bit bus. However, there are whispers indicating that the Titan may not be part of this generation.

Despite the uncertainty, let’s delve into the details. This prototype occupies four slots and uses a single 16-pin connector, suggesting a power consumption of up to 600 watts. The design, known as PG137, is not currently used by any Nvidia GPU, according to VideoCardz.

Although the display outputs are empty, we can observe the peculiar design of the PCB, which is intended to be mounted on the right side. At present, the model only includes the shroud, backplate, heatsink, and connector wiring, which runs through the heatsink. The display connectors are stacked on top of each other.

Although Nvidia has remained tight-lipped, rumors have been circulating about this card. A black and gold shroud on a previous version hinted at the existence of a Titan card. Typically, Nvidia reserves this color scheme for its Titan models, while regular GPUs feature black and silver designs. However, as noted by Wccftech, the prototype frame refers to an RTX 4090, indicating that this early model could still be anything.

Considering the possibilities, it is more likely that this prototype is an improved version of the existing RTX 4090 rather than the RTX Titan Ada. Nvidia may potentially incorporate some aspects of this cooler design in future GPUs, whether it be the 4090 Ti or an entirely new model. However, for now, all attention is on the upcoming RTX 4060, set to launch in a few days.
