James Gunn was recently photographed on the red carpet at the premiere of The Flash. However, armchair body language experts noted that the new head of DC appeared uncomfortable in his surroundings. Gunn was seen posing for photos alongside other notable figures of the DCU, including Peter Safran, the co-head of DC, and director Andy Muschietti, as well as controversial star Ezra Miller. While everyone else seemed comfortable and natural, Gunn appeared stiff and distant. Observing closely, some have deemed his behavior as decidedly awkward.
Some observers speculate that Gunn’s behavior could be due to tension behind the scenes, or perhaps due to the quality of the film itself. Although The Flash initially received praise from several individuals, including Gunn himself who called it his favorite film of the year, the outlook is now becoming progressively more negative. Alternatively, it’s also possible that everyone is overthinking the situation, and exaggerating the significance of a normal group photo.
Whatever the reason behind his behavior, with the next major project being Gunn’s own Superman: Legacy, we can look forward with cautious optimism and hope that he will exude a bit more enthusiasm at his next premiere.
