The Final Version Shows Little Variation from Pre-Network Test Gameplay in Terms of Content Removal.

A new video showcasing pre-network test Elden Ring gameplay has emerged on YouTube, courtesy of Sekiro Dubi. The video presents snippets from an almost complete version of the game, which the public has never seen before, and sheds light on how the game has evolved over the past year.

Unreleased pre-network test Elden Ring gameplay discovered

The video features cut content from Elden Ring, following the story of Guilbert, an NPC that never made it into the final game. One can see similarities between this unreleased footage and the final game, suggesting that the creators may have refined the existing characters and storylines to bring us the final version of Elden Ring.

Guilbert can be found in the same location that Yura is in the final game and is voiced by the same actor. However, he is more like a cross between Yurah and Witch Hunter Jerren since he wields the latter’s weapon and armor set.

Another example featuring Guilbert is with the boss Crucible Knight Ordovis, who can be found in a location called the Erdtree-Gazing Evergaol in the pre-network test game. This location evolved into the Forlorn Hound Evergaol, where players fight Darriwil alongside Blaidd instead of Ordovis. Interestingly, Ordovis became Flo in the Network Test version and ultimately became the Spirit Ash of a Bloodhound Knight in the final version.

Elden Ring continues to be one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2022, recently winning George R.R. Martin and Hidetaka Miyazaki the Nebula Award for Best Game Writing.
