Drew and Enya are the Internet’s Favorite Dose of Nonsense (okay well maybe not the entire internet, but they’re mine)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bowling Green chapter.

Meet Drew Phillips and Enya Umanzor, the world’s cutest (not) couple.

Drew and Bella (yes that’s Bella Hadid)

Drew Phillips (25) and Enya Umanzor (24) are omnipresent internet personalities who host the podcast, Emergency Intercom. In short, these two are the most random humans on the face of this Earth. Their hour-long podcast episodes are pure chaos, the two touting off whatever comes to mind first. The reason I love them so much is because they make seemingly mundane topics wildly hilarious. They have the funniest one liners and have me quoting them at the most random times. At first, I couldn’t grasp their humor by just listening to them on Apple Podcasts, however watching the recorded versions on Youtube completely adds to their bit. Seeing them interact heightens their humor- their videos now send me into full belly laughing fits. In the stress and craziness that was this past semester, a good laugh was seriously the medicine I needed. If you are wondering what they talk about, the easiest way to describe it would be a stream of consciousness. They literally write down whatever comes to mind in the notes app and that catapults them into the most interesting tangents. Think: lobotomies, Drew’s abhorrently long screen time reports, living in LA, pop culture, conspiracy theories, Enya’s countless stories while under the influence, and the black void that is TikTok to name a few. I can’t even begin to fully describe what they discuss on the podcast because the content is so vulgar and obscure. You just have to listen for yourself. The podcast titles give a brief glimpse as to what may be discussed, yet they don’t follow a script, so what you think your’e getting at the beginning of the episode is nothing compared to what you get at the end. Some of my fav episodes include:

Emergency Intercom – Episode 122 (drew got arrested at disneyland) (He didn’t)

Emergency Intercom – Episode 117 (halloween episode w josiah)

Emergency Intercom – Episode 27 (We Got Covid)

Emergency Intercom – Episode 108 (Normalize being an awful person)

Emergency Intercom – Episode 82 (We had a baby (kinda))

Emergency Intercom – Episode 9 (Nightmare Blurnt Rotations)

Emergency Intercom – Episode 98 (somebody broke into our house and watched drew sleep)

Emergency Intercom – Episode 83 (drew is back to sucking on that fruity tube again)

If you wanna learn more, Paper Magazine did a really fantastic interview with them that you can read here: https://www.papermag.com/enya-umanzor-drew-phillips#rebelltitem1

You literally cannot go wrong with any of these videos and luckily, they have 122 episodes and counting to binge. They bring their friends on the episodes too and it just adds to the hilarity. I just wanted to thank my best friends Sarah and Will for putting me onto Drew and Enya and I can’t wait to watch them with you guys soon

To conclude, if you see me smiling to myself while walking across campus, just know it’s thanks to these two! Give them a listen anywhere you stream podcasts and the video versions on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@EmergencyIntercom
