Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Series: Samsung launches Watch6 series, brings back the popular physical rotating dial

Samsung Introduces the Galaxy Watch6 Series

Samsung unveiled the highly anticipated Galaxy Watch6 Series at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Seoul, South Korea. Alongside this release, Samsung also announced the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.

Enhanced Health and Wellness Features

The Galaxy Watch6 series offers a range of upgraded health and wellness features. These include in-depth sleep analysis, AFib support, improved heart rate monitoring, and more.

Classic Design with a Twist

Samsung has revived the Classic moniker with the Watch6 series, bringing back the iconic physical rotating dial. This feature allows users to navigate through the watch, scroll through messages, notifications, widgets, menus, and app screens with ease.

Advanced Sleep Analysis

Users can now benefit from new in-depth sleep insights provided by the Galaxy Watch6 series. These insights analyze sleep patterns and offer detailed reports, along with personalized sleep coaching to improve sleep quality. The Sleep Score Factors feature tracks total sleep time, sleep cycle, awake time, physical and mental recovery, providing a comprehensive understanding of sleep quality. Additionally, the watches offer individualized sleep messages developed in collaboration with the National Sleep Foundation.

Enhanced Heart Rate Monitoring

The heart rate monitoring system has been updated to include the option to create a personalized HR zone. This feature analyzes individual physical capabilities and provides five optimal running intensity levels, allowing users to set their own fitness goals. The Galaxy Watch6 series also introduces over 100 workout trackers, including Track Run which records the user’s runs on a track, and Custom Workout which enables users to build and track personalized workout routines.

Comprehensive Health Tracking

In addition to existing blood pressure and electrocardiogram monitoring, the Galaxy Watch6 series introduces the Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification feature. This feature checks for heart rhythms suggestive of Atrial fibrillation (AFib) in the background, even while asleep, providing users with a more comprehensive understanding of their heart health. The watches can also track skin temperature during the night to offer valuable insights, including menstrual cycle tracking. Furthermore, the Fall Detection feature can detect falls during exercise, when standing still, or even while sleeping, and automatically alert emergency services or pre-selected contacts.

Sleeker Design with Larger Display

The Galaxy Watch6 series boasts slimmer bezels and larger displays, enhancing the overall aesthetics of the watches. The Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic feature a 30% slimmer bezel and a 15% thinner rotating bezel, while the displays are approximately 20% larger with 2000 nits of peak brightness. Users can also adjust the always-on display brightness to optimize visibility in different conditions.

Availability

The Galaxy Watch6 comes in 44mm and 40mm sizes, available in Graphite and Silver color options. The Galaxy Watch6 Classic, featuring the iconic rotating bezel, is available in Black and Silver in 43mm and 47mm sizes. The Galaxy Watch6 series starts at $299 and will be available for sale in global markets starting August 11.
