Rewritten: Google Photos May Introduce Cinematic Effect Feature in Photos – Here’s What It Could Mean for Users

Reportedly, Google is testing a new on-demand cinematic effect feature for its photo-sharing and storage platform, Google Photos. Some users have noticed an option to create cinematic photos using this feature under the ‘Utilities’ tab in the Library option within Google Photos. The new feature will allow users to select a photo and specify the duration of the resulting video. The app will then create a slow-motion zoom animation of the chosen image, although the quality of the effect will depend on the selected image.

In February 2022, Google rolled out another feature called the ‘Magic Eraser’ tool for Google One subscribers. This AI-powered feature is available to both Android and iPhone users and all Pixel users. The tool detects disturbances in pictures and allows users to remove unwanted distractions from their photos with ease. Users can circle or brush over the things they want to remove and the tool will make them disappear.

Google Photos supports an automatic daily backup feature for images and videos saved locally on the device. Users can also share photos and albums with others via a link. The platform also provides editing features where Android users can crop, rotate orientation and adjust the exposure and color balance in photos. iPhone users can also transfer photos saved on their devices to the cloud-based photo-storing service by enabling the ‘Backup & sync’ feature and entering their Google Account credentials.
