Join Collider on a journey through the dreamy and whimsical world of Wes Anderson’s fictional town, Asteroid City. The romantic comedy will hit theaters on June 23rd, but LA and New York City locals can have the chance to catch a special screening before its wide release thanks to our partnership with Focus Features. Plus, there are some exciting surprises in store for LA attendees!
Asteroid City is set in the mid-50s during a meet-up of students and families from all over the country who will gather to join the Junior Stargazer/Space Cadets. Starring an impressive cast including Jason Schwartzman, Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, Bryan Cranston, Tilda Swinton, and more, this film promises friendly competition and activities at the convention. However, “world-changing events” will disrupt the festivities.
The New York screening will take place on June 14th at 8 pm at the AMC Lincoln Square theater. For those in the LA area, the early screening will be on June 17th at 2 pm at the Landmark Sunset Theater. Focus Features is also offering a free T-shirt and concession item to LA attendees. Plus, either before or after the film, visitors can experience the Asteroid City pop-up. If attending the pop-up before the screening, make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes early.
