Report: One UI 6.0 Beta for Samsung Galaxy S23 Series Scheduled for Third Week of July

Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S23 series featuring the Android 13-based One UI 5.1 skin in February this year. Now, the smartphone brand is reportedly preparing to release the One UI 6.0 beta for the Galaxy S23 series in the third week of July. The new version of One UI, which is based on Android 14, is expected to be available for other compatible Samsung smartphones and tablets shortly after. Recently, Google expanded the Android 14 Beta 3, the latest testing version of their operating system, to more users.

As reported by SamMobile, Samsung is planning to launch the first beta version of their custom skin, One UI 6.0, based on Android 14 for the Galaxy S23 series in the third week of July. The beta will subsequently roll out to other eligible devices. Based on Samsung’s past updates, it can be expected that the public release of the latest One UI skin will occur before the end of this year.

Currently, the Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra are running on One UI 5.1, which is based on Android 13. In addition to the latest Galaxy S series, the One UI 6.0 update may also be available for last year’s Galaxy S22 flagships, the Galaxy S21 series, and the Galaxy S21 FE handsets. However, the older Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy S10 Lite, and a few other phones will not receive the next major OS update and will only be eligible for security updates.

The One UI 6.0 update is expected to bring several significant enhancements compared to the existing One UI 5.0. These may include seamless updates, more personalization options, and enhanced connectivity features with tablets and Galaxy wearables. Google showcased the Android 14 update at Google I/O last month, and it has been available to public beta testers for some time now. Android 14 Beta 3 for Pixel phones is now accessible.

In other news, Samsung recently launched the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G in India alongside the more expensive Galaxy A54 5G smartphone.
