Remaining Scenes to Film

Ethan Hunt, the world’s foremost secret agent, is facing significant challenges with filming delays. The production of “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” has already been affected by COVID-19 pandemic delays, and now, the ongoing Writers’ Guild of America strike is causing further hold-ups for the production of Part Two.

However, despite these setbacks, the initial response to “Dead Reckoning Part One” has been positive. The film brings back Tom Cruise and the Impossible Mission Force team as they confront a threat posed by artificial intelligence that jeopardizes the planet. Ethan also grapples with demons from his past. The action in the film has been described as “breathtaking.”

In an interview with Collider, Christopher McQuarrie, the writer, director, and producer of the film, reassured fans that the delays for Part Two would not be prolonged. He revealed that there are only a few major scenes left to shoot, which are grand in scale. According to McQuarrie, these scenes will be unlike anything audiences have seen before.

Despite the challenges, McQuarrie has meticulously planned the film and is confident that once shooting resumes, things will go smoothly. However, the possibility of a SAG-AFTRA strike looms in the background, adding uncertainty to the production process.

The bulk of the film has already been shot, leaving only one remaining action sequence featuring Hunt’s team. Although there are additional characters yet to be revealed, McQuarrie is optimistic about completing the principal photography early next year.

“Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” will hit theaters on July 12, with Part Two scheduled to release on June 28, 2024.
