Swedish developer Starbreeze has unveiled the details for the highly anticipated Payday 3 playtests on PC and Xbox Series X, providing eager players with the opportunity to experience the game firsthand.
Interested players can apply to participate in the closed beta from August 2 to August 7. Approval for access to the beta will be random, as stated by the studio. The beta will feature the exciting new heist “No Rest for the Wicked,” featuring the beloved characters Chains, Dallas, Hoxton, and Wolf. Players will have the freedom to choose their preferred difficulty setting and are welcome to capture or stream gameplay footage on platforms like Twitch and YouTube.
However, it’s important to note that not all weapons and cosmetics will be available for testing. Additionally, progress in the beta will not carry over to the full launch of Payday 3. There is also a level cap of Infamy level 22.
Starbreeze wants to emphasize that pre-ordering special editions of Payday 3 does not automatically grant access to the closed beta, and this is not the appropriate time for fans to suggest new features.
Developer Starbreeze stated, “This is primarily a technical test, prioritizing the achievement of our technical goals rather than providing a complete game experience.”
With almost a decade since the release of Payday 2, fans are eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series.
The game’s Steam page states, “A proficient heister knows that a successful heist requires careful planning, hard work, and a touch of luck. In Payday 3, players are empowered to make crucial decisions, such as whether to employ stealth or engage in a full-throttle assault, to release hostages or manipulate them as pawns, and to go solo or team up with friends. The possibilities are limitless, and these choices will dynamically alter gameplay.”
