Blizzard’s announcement of canceling the PvE co-op component of Overwatch 2 has caused a stir, but it’s not all bad news. The company will still be releasing some PvE story missions, albeit at a cost. As part of the Overwatch 2: Invasion season starting in August, players can access three PvE story missions for $15, or opt for the Ultimate Invasion Bundle for a hefty $40. This bundle includes permanent access to the story missions, 1,000 Overwatch Coins, a legendary skin for Sojourn, and more.
However, many fans are disappointed with the pricing, as Blizzard was initially promising hundreds of missions for the paid PvE version of Overwatch 2. What players will now receive instead feels like it’s overpriced scraps of a failed experiment. Nonetheless, Overwatch 2: Invasion will also come with a new support hero, Flashpoint mode, co-op events, and more.
