Well, pluck me running
The Chicken Police, created by The Wild Gentlemen and Joystick Ventures, have exciting news for fans. They have announced the upcoming release of Chicken Police: Into the Hive, set to launch in 2024.
While I initially missed out on playing Chicken Police: Paint it RED when it first came out in 2020, I managed to grab a copy the following year and was blown away. Even though I may not have reviewed it during the expected timeframe, I couldn’t help but praise it later. The game’s noir vibe combined with an unexpectedly hopeful story had me captivated. It’s a world that may seem peculiar, but it holds immense intrigue that has left me eager for further exploration.
The previous game shed some light on the Hive, an area within Clawville. Essentially, it serves as a home for unwanted insects, acting as a slum. Manny expresses sympathy for the mistreated inhabitants, and while the first game didn’t delve much further into the Hive, it has the potential to be a rich setting for storytelling in Chicken Police: Into the Hive. The trailer only provides glimpses, but it hints at a chilling murder and mounting unrest in the streets.
In addition, the trailer showcases the return of the unique blend of photo-manipulation and anthropomorphic animal characters that made the first game so distinctive. Personally, I couldn’t be more excited. The anticipation is overwhelming.
Unfortunately, I’ll have to contain my excitement until 2024, the expected release year for Chicken Police: Into the Hive on PC.
