Newly Released Renders Unveil the OnePlus V Fold: Is This OnePlus’ Debut Foldable Device?

Although rumors of a OnePlus foldable phone have been circulating for years, we finally have a glimpse of what could be their debut folding device. OnLeaks and Smartprix have collaborated to release renders of the alleged OnePlus foldable, expected to be called the OnePlus Fold or OnePlus V Fold. Previously, it was believed that OnePlus’ folding phone would be based on the Oppo Find N2. However, the new renders reveal a unique and original design.

The renders, based on a prototype unit in the testing stage, show a design that closely resembles the final product. Elements of OnePlus’ current design language can be seen, such as the circular camera bump on the back, similar to the OnePlus 11 flagship and OnePlus Pad tablet. The camera setup includes primary and secondary sensors, a periscopic telephoto zoom sensor, and an offset LED flash. The Hasselblad branding suggests a continued partnership for specialized tuning of the photographic experience.

Additional features include a faux leather back, a physical alert slider, front-facing cameras on both the outer and folding displays, and a power button that also functions as a fingerprint sensor.

It’s important to note that OnePlus’ foldable phone will differ from the Oppo Find N2, which has a squat aspect ratio. OnePlus seems to be aiming for a design that falls between the Find N2 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

As for specifications, the OnePlus Fold is rumored to run on Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It is expected to feature a 2K 120Hz LTPO AMOLED screen, a 50MP main camera, a 32MP front camera, and a 4,800mAh battery with 100W ‘SuperVOOC’ fast-charging. These specifications are subject to speculation, but if they hold true, the OnePlus Fold could be a strong contender among foldable phones when it releases, likely in the third quarter of this year.
