The story focuses on Barbie (played by Margot Robbie) as she lives out her perfect life in Barbie Land, surrounded by various versions of herself and her partner Ken (portrayed by Ryan Gosling). However, everything changes when Barbie begins questioning the meaning of life and whether there’s more to it than just partying at the beach. Her ideas don’t sit well with the other Barbies, who are content with their routine and resist any change. Feeling the need for answers, Barbie decides to leave her home and embark on a journey.

In the real world, Barbie initially believes she’s alone, but soon discovers that Ken has accompanied her. Ken is always ready to support his partner and carries his rollerblades in case of emergencies. Despite their idyllic life in Barbie Land, they soon realize that the human world poses unexpected challenges.

Barbie‘s Biggest Threat

One person who won’t be pleased to discover Barbie and Ken’s presence in the real world is the Chief Executive Officer of Mattel, portrayed by Will Ferrell. Similar to his role in The LEGO Movie, Ferrell plays a corporate executive determined to gain control of the situation. Barbie and Ken must find a way to outsmart him before they end up in danger, while Barbie contemplates the idea that a shorter life filled with hope may hold more significance than an endless existence of beach parties.

Barbie premieres on July 21, and tickets for Barbie’s Blowout Party are available now. Check out the trailer below while you wait!
