In fact, this controversy led to a lawsuit against Marvel and its parent company, Disney, resulting in a settlement of over $30 million. While the new documentary on Stan Lee has received praise from critics, some have criticized it for lacking insight into Lee’s conflicts with Kirby and other creators.
