Jared Leto’s involvement in Tron 3 didn’t generate much excitement, given his history as a two-time Razzie winner and the star of poorly received comic book adaptations. However, the good news is that Leto is not the lead or main character in the sequel, so the audience can rest easy.
Greta Lee has been cast as a video game programmer and tech company CEO in Tron: Ares. She will play a role that establishes her as the audience surrogate and main player in the story.
It remains to be seen how Leto will bring a malevolent artificial intelligence to life, considering his tendency to take method acting to extremes. While the outcome may be strange and maybe not wonderful, it will undoubtedly be fascinating, leaving the possibility of another Razzie nomination open.
