How a supportive community in Diablo 4 guided a voice actor to discover his character in the game, promoting a wholesome environment

In typical Blizzard fashion, Diablo 4 boasts a vast world, complete with major cities, small towns, outdoor communities, and shady encampments. One of the reasons why the world feels so alive is due to the sheer number of characters that populate it.

NPCs in Diablo 4 are divided into tiers: those at the bottom merely cycle through a few lines, whereas the higher tiers offer more nuanced quest-givers, companions, and supporting characters. Bringing all of these characters to life required a team of voice actors.

But what happens when a voice actor provides their talent months or even years before the game’s release, and they’re not quite sure where their character ended up? That was the situation for voice actor and Reddit user TheFourthAct, who enlisted the help of the Reddit community to identify their Barbarian spirit character. Players helped TheFourthAct identify their character, who appears in Act Three of the game’s story, when the player fights the spirits of Barbarians who mistake them for servants of the Prime Evils.
