Google Pixel 8 Series Alleged Promo Video Tips ‘Audio Magic Eraser’ Feature, New Colour Option

Google introduced the Magic Eraser feature with the release of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones in 2021. This innovative machine learning and AI-based photo editing tool, which removes unwanted objects from photos, is now expanding its availability. Google is rumored to be developing a similar feature for videos in their upcoming Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro models. A leaked promo video hints at the existence of an ‘Audio Magic Eraser’ in the Pixel 8 series, and also suggests a new blue color option for the regular Pixel 8 model.

An X (formerly known as Twitter) user with the handle EZ (@EZ8622647227573) recently shared the alleged promo video of the Pixel 8 series. The 14-second video showcases a new ‘Audio Magic Eraser’ feature in the upcoming Pixel smartphones. In the video, skateboarders can be seen utilizing this feature to remove unwanted noise from their video clips. The Audio Magic Eraser button is prominently displayed among the controls in Google Photos.

This promo video carries the tagline “the only phone with Audio Magic Eraser,” highlighting Google’s commitment to engineering innovative features for their Pixel handsets. Additionally, towards the end of the clip, the Pixel 8 is showcased in a stylish blue shade.

The Magic Eraser feature was initially introduced in the Pixel 6 series smartphones in 2021. It simplifies the removal of unwanted background elements from photos with just a few taps. Last year, Google extended this functionality to more non-Tensor-powered smartphones.

The Pixel 8 series is expected to be officially launched in October this year. Both models will run on Android 14 and feature a high refresh rate display of 120Hz. They will be powered by the Tensor G3 SoC, an upgrade from the Tensor G2 SoC used in the Pixel 7 series and Pixel Fold.

The smartphones are likely to be available in 128GB and 256GB storage options. The Pixel 8 Pro is rumored to come with a 4,950mAh battery and support 27W wired fast charging. On the other hand, the Pixel 8 is said to house a 4,485mAh battery with support for 24W wired charging and 12W wireless charging.
