Doomfist Transformed into Saitama in Overwatch 2’s Exciting One-Punch Man Collaboration: Explore Further Details

The highly-anticipated collaboration between Overwatch 2 and the immensely popular anime One-Punch Man is now underway. This marks Blizzard’s debut IP crossover for their team-based shooter, and the update introduces a fresh collection of anime-inspired skins and cosmetic items. The event will run for a month until April 6, giving players ample time to complete in-game challenges and unlock exciting rewards, including a free Legendary Mumen Rider Soldier: 76 skin. However, other skins can be purchased using Overwatch Coins from the in-game shop.

The four heroes at the center of the Overwatch 2 x One-Punch Man collaboration maintain their usual movesets but don new outfits resembling characters from the anime. In a prepared statement, Mike Ybarra, president of Blizzard Entertainment, expressed their immense excitement in bringing this collaboration to players worldwide, given their love for anime and One-Punch Man. He elaborated that since the Overwatch universe presents an optimistic vision of the near-future Earth, it only made sense for Doomfist to cosplay as Saitama, a character renowned for his devastatingly powerful punches. Additionally, both characters are bald.

For a cost of 2,500 Overwatch Coins, players can unlock the Doomfist-Saitama bundle, which includes the skin, a ‘Saitama Punch’ highlight intro, an exclusive name card, the ‘Training Regiment’ emote, and a “One Hundred Push-Ups…” quote voice line. The next offering is the healing ninja Kiriko, styled after Tatsumaki, the hero with the ability to control tornadoes. This bundle is priced at 2,100 Overwatch Coins and comprises a victory pose and a name card in addition to the skin. The most affordable bundle is Genos Genji, the cybernetic follower of Saitama, which costs 1,900 Overwatch Coins and grants the skin and a name card.

Alternatively, players can opt for the One-Punch Man Mega bundle, a comprehensive package that includes all the previously mentioned items. This bundle is priced at 4,400 units of in-game currency, which is 2,100 units less than purchasing the items individually. Overwatch Coins can be acquired directly from the in-game store, with a package of 2,000 units costing $19.99 (approximately Rs. 1,637). Alternatively, players can earn smaller quantities of coins by completing weekly challenges.

As mentioned earlier, the fourth skin based on Mumen Rider’s appearance can be obtained by completing exclusive challenges, which offer a variety of rewards. Players have an entire month to participate in 24 complete matches across any game mode, whether it be Arcade, Competitive, or Casual. Upon reaching each milestone, players will unlock the following rewards:

– After 4 games played: Saitama’s Fist Weapon Charm
– After 8 games played: Mumen Rider Name Card
– After 12 games played: Cyclist of Justice Victory Pose for Soldier: 76
– After 16 games played: Justice Crash Highlight Intro for Soldier: 76
– After 20 games played: Boros Weapon Charm
– After 24 games played: Legendary Mumen Rider-Soldier: 76 skin

Furthermore, Overwatch 2 is currently in Season 3, featuring an Asian mythology theme and a new ice-based Control map known as Antarctic Peninsula. The annual PachiMarchi event will also make a comeback on March 21, offering a limited-time ‘Kill Confirmed’ mode and a Roadhog skin depicting a Pachimari tattoo on his belly. Meanwhile, the One-Punch Man anime series is gearing up for its third season, announced last year, with a poster showcasing Saitama and Hero Hunter Garou.

The Overwatch 2 x One-Punch Man event is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X platforms.
