Dedicated Starfield Fan Devotes Nearly 200 Hours Crafting Intricate Skill System

Starfield is set to release on September 6, 2023, which is not too far away. However, one dedicated fan is using their time wisely by attempting to uncover all the details about the Starfield skill system.

In a post on the r/Starfield subreddit (as reported by GamesRadar), user u/asd8dhd has shared their findings after “approximately 200 hours” of reverse engineering. They have compiled a comprehensive 44-page Google Doc and a vast collection of suspected skill images gathered from all available information and footage.

This investigation is truly impressive and thorough, even though u/asd8dhd admits that there could be some inaccuracies. They encourage readers to point out any verifiably incorrect information.

Considering the extensive amount of publicly available material they analyzed, their dedication is commendable. I am now eagerly awaiting to see if u/asd8dhd’s educated assessments prove to be accurate. These assessments include not only skill names and descriptions but also an explanation of the leveling and skill system itself.

The speculated skills in the game cover a wide range, from personal and companion enhancements to unique abilities such as provoking an NPC to attack their allies or manipulating time. It’s important to note that this is mostly theoretical information. Nonetheless, there is a wealth of information to explore, and fans of Starfield still have plenty of time to do so before the game’s release.

Skill Check

It will take a few more weeks before we can confirm if this Starfield sleuth has accurately deciphered the skill system. In the meantime, August is shaping up to be an exciting start to the fall season.

In fact, the upcoming release of Starfield has caused some reshuffling in the summer launch schedule. The PC version of Baldur’s Gate 3 moved up its launch date, while the role-playing musical Stray Gods was delayed by one week in response. Alongside these games, Armored Core VI and several other intriguing titles promise an action-packed second half of the year.
