Deadline to Redeem PlayStation Plus Collection Approaching, Gamers Must Act by May 9 to Secure the 19-Game Collection

Sony is set to discontinue its PlayStation Plus Collection soon. This collection consists of a selection of PS4 games that are available for free download and play on the PS5 for subscribers of the PS Plus service. Users have until May 9 to claim the 19-game collection, after which it will no longer be available. However, access to these games will still require a PS Plus membership even after the collection is discontinued. It’s worth noting that the collection originally included 20 games, but one game, Persona 5, was removed last year.

The PlayStation Plus Collection was introduced as a way to incentivize the purchase of the PS5, which initially lacked exclusive launch titles. While Sony has not provided a specific reason for discontinuing the collection, they have recently offered limited-time discounts on their PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium subscriptions, likely aiming to encourage subscribers to upgrade from the base Essential plan.

Additionally, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan has assured that the supply shortage of PS5 consoles should no longer be an issue. Combined with the console now having its own extensive library of games, it’s possible that Sony deems it unnecessary to continue offering these free games.

As mentioned earlier, the PlayStation Plus Collection includes a total of 19 games, categorized into 10 first-party titles and nine third-party releases.

Here are the games that will be leaving the PlayStation Collection on May 9:

– First-party titles: The Last of Us Part I on PS5 Offers 2-Hour Free Trial for PS Plus Deluxe/Premium Members

– Third-party titles: Sony has also unveiled four free games for all PS Plus members this month. Starting February 7, PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Deluxe members can enjoy the critically-acclaimed Mafia remake, the vibrant skateboarding game Olli Olli World, Destiny 2’s Beyond Light expansion, and Evil Dead: The Game, a gory 4v1 shooter based on Sam Raimi’s original film series.

In India, PlayStation Plus subscriptions start at Rs. 499 per month for Essential, Rs. 749 per month for Extra, and Rs. 849 per month for Deluxe.
