Michael Mann is set to direct his highly anticipated film Ferrari, starring Adam Driver and Penélope Cruz. The movie will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and will later hit theaters on Christmas, according to Deadline.

The film is centered around the life of former Formula 1 racer, Enzo Ferrari (played by Adam Driver), who faces a crisis with the racing brand he built alongside his wife. Set in 1957, Enzo and Laura (played by Penélope Cruz) are dealing with financial struggles and the loss of their son. As they face these challenges, their drivers’ determination to win places them on the edge. Enzo decides to risk everything on one race – the treacherous 1,000-mile race across Italy, known as the Mille Miglia.
What adds to the excitement is that this film has been in the works since the 2000s. The story’s focus on the prestigious Mille Miglia race and Ferrari’s involvement in it has fans eagerly anticipating its release. The biopic will also explore the tragic incident during the race that took the lives of nine people, including children and driver Alfonso de Portago, when the vehicle crashed into the crowd due to a blown tire.
