“Sunday witnessed the top Street Fighter players gathering for the intense battles of the tournament, as they blind-picked their opponents and embarked on an electrifying journey. In the Round of 16, defending champion Problem X made a statement with a flawless 5-0 victory over iDom. Akainu and Oil King also displayed their dominance with 5-0 sweeps against Leffen and gachikun, respectively. Among other matchups, close friends and UAE competitors AngryBird and Big Bird faced off, resulting in a thrilling 5-4 victory for Big Bird. Zhen secured a narrow 5-4 victory over Bonchan, Mono defeated Mister Crimson 5-3, and Last Chance Qualifier Champion Kakeru delivered a resounding 5-1 victory over NL.”

“However, the highlight of the tournament emerged when hometown underdog JabhiM went head-to-head with the legendary Street Fighter player Tokido. Despite being considered the underdog, JabhiM stunned everyone with an incredible 5-4 victory against the renowned player. The crowd erupted in excitement as JabhiM’s exceptional Chun-Li skills made history not only for himself but also for his country and continent. During the next round, Kakeru proved his worth by effortlessly defeating the reigning champion Problem X with a flawless 5-0 victory. Big Bird showcased his dominance with a commanding win against Zhen, while Akainu dispatched Mono. To the disappointment of the home fans, JabhiM was defeated convincingly with a score of 5-2 by the composed and collected Oil King.”

“The Semi-Finals marked the end of breakout player Kakeru’s impressive run, as Big Bird’s Marisa proved to be too formidable. Despite putting up a valiant fight, Kakeru couldn’t match Big Bird’s skill, resulting in a 5-1 victory for Big Bird. French player Akainu, who was a last-minute replacement, faced a formidable opponent in Oil King. However, Akainu showed no signs of wavering, securing a 5-1 victory and advancing to the Final. As the final match began, it became clear that either player had a chance at claiming the coveted title. However, Big Bird once again demonstrated his mastery of Marisa, delivering powerful blows and perfectly executed combos that left Akainu unable to respond. Big Bird took an early lead and never looked back, culminating in a dominant 5-1 victory that crowned him as the Red Bull Kumite Champion. Big Bird, of Algerian descent, became the first African to win the prestigious Red Bull Kumite title.”
