Battle Stars: Battle Royale to Celebrate Independence Day With Delhi-Inspired Map, Surpasses 5 Million Players

The mobile multiplayer shooter, Battle Stars: Battle Royale, developed in India, has achieved a milestone of five million players since its launch in June. This makes it SuperGaming’s fastest-growing game. In celebration of this achievement and with Independence Day approaching, the game is receiving a free update that introduces a new map inspired by the city of New Delhi. Similar to the previously well-received Mumbai-based map, this new arena will feature popular locations such as India Gate, Red Fort, and Connaught Place. The map is now available on Android and iOS platforms, and on August 15, players will be able to spot the Indian national flag hoisted atop key structures.

Christelle D’cruz, the founder of SuperGaming, stated, “Season 2 of Battle Stars witnessed an incredible 20 million matches played. We wanted to take the experience even further by bringing Delhi into the game. To achieve this, we visited Delhi to capture its essence and culture, incorporating it into the game, and also took feedback from the community. Our new Squad BR features are also based on community feedback.” This update not only enhances the aesthetics of the game but also introduces location-specific sound effects, such as the chatter of the crowds, and new emotes that convey local slang used in Delhi.

Battle Stars originally started as a game mode within SuperGaming’s popular social deduction game, Silly Royale. It later expanded into a standalone shooter game, capitalizing on the success of the latter. Another contributing factor to its popularity was the collaboration with YouTuber Techno Gamerz (Ujjwal Chaurasia), who has 34.9 million subscribers. Techno Gamerz’s likeness was added to the game as a playable character named Techno Quest. For those unfamiliar with the game, Battle Stars offers both Team Deathmatch (TDM) and battle royale modes. The battle royale mode now receives a Squad BR update, allowing players to team up with two other players and enter the arena, aiming to survive and be the last team standing.

In addition to the ability to loot items from defeated opponents, some power-ups have been introduced in Battle Stars. The game recently concluded its four-week-long Season 2 multiplayer run, during which players engaged in 20 million matches and recorded 41 million kills. While these achievements are significant, SuperGaming’s primary focus is on releasing its standalone Indo-futuristic battle royale game called Indus. In this game, players will drop onto the floating island map of Virlok, scavenge for supplies, survive, and eliminate opponents to be the last person standing. At certain intervals, a rare resource named Cosmium will spawn at a random location on the map, granting instant victory to the player who collects it.

In a recent partnership with Google, the game Indus now supports Project Gameface, allowing players to control in-game actions using head movements and facial expressions. This feature is designed to assist individuals facing cognitive and motor challenges. Additionally, Bandai Namco Entertainment, known for publishing games like Dark Souls and Elden Ring, invested in SuperGaming in March to help build their ‘IP metaverse.’

The Delhi map for Battle Stars is now available for download on Android and iOS platforms.
