As per TMZ, Warner Bros. is facing a $8 million lawsuit due to this alleged wand injury. Jessica Perry, a mother, is reportedly suing Warner Bros. after a replica Harry Potter wand she purchased hurt her toddler’s eye (3-year-old son). She claims that her older son was playing with the wand when suddenly, a piece of metal ejected from the wand and struck ther younger son in the eye.
The woman has declared the wand “defective” and says that Warner Bros. should have been aware of such a risk. She said that the Harry Potter wand has caused severe damage and nearly blinded her son. Perry added that even after eye surgeries and eye drops, her toddler would still have to proceed with caution in the future to avoid more retinal damage.
The $8 million lawsuit from Perry is said to cover compensatory damages for her son’s physical injuries and emotional distress as well as punitive damages.
