The updated Google Weather UI maintains “Froggy” while enhancing its professional appearance

Early last month, we informed you that Google Weather was about to receive an impressive Material You makeover. Although the new and improved Google Weather hasn’t been officially released to smartphones yet, tech journalist Mishaal Rahman managed to make it appear on a Pixel phone. How? By tricking the system properties into making the Google App behave as if it were running on a Pixel Tablet.
The previous version of Google Weather had a cartoonish design featuring a charming character known as “Froggy.” The application had three tabs at the top, allowing users to view the weather for “Today,” “Tomorrow,” and the following “10 days.” In the new design, these tabs are eliminated, and users can now see the hourly forecast for the current day and the 10-day forecast all on one page.
As you scroll down, you can access additional information such as the current wind speed, humidity, UV index (which helps determine the need for sunscreen), and barometric pressure. The day’s sunrise and sunset times are also conveniently displayed. For more detailed hourly weather information on precipitation, wind, and humidity, you can simply tap on the corresponding tabs in the “Hourly details” section.

Furthermore, you can delve deeper into each day of the 10-day forecast to find detailed information such as the expected high and low temperatures, hourly forecasts, maximum wind speed, maximum UV index, average humidity, and sunrise and sunset times for each day. In addition, fans of “Froggy” will be delighted to know that the lovable cartoon character still has a prominent presence in the new design, occupying about a quarter of the screen at the top of the application.

The exact rollout date for Android phones is uncertain at the moment. As Rahman points out, there is a possibility that the new UI might be limited to Pixel devices, despite the fact that the new Google Weather is part of the Google app.
