Filming has begun for the eagerly awaited horror movie Dust Bunny, directed by Bryan Fuller and starring Mads Mikkelsen. The duo, who previously collaborated on NBC’s Hannibal, recently reunited on set, as shared by Fuller in a selfie posted on Instagram. Fuller captioned the photo with “BACK IN THE SADDLE WITH THIS GUY #DustBunny,” which undoubtedly thrilled fans of their previous work together.
Dust Bunny dives into the horror genre, an area where both Fuller and Mikkelsen have demonstrated their success. The story revolves around an eight-year-old girl who believes there is a menacing monster hiding beneath her bed, responsible for consuming her family. Lost and desperate, she seeks assistance from her enigmatic neighbor. Specific details about the plot have not been disclosed yet.
In addition to directing, Fuller also assumes the roles of writer and producer for Dust Bunny, marking his debut as a feature film director. Thunder Road and Entertainment One are the production companies involved, with Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee as producers. As of now, Mikkelsen is the only confirmed cast member, although more information on the cast may be revealed closer to the completion of filming.
Both Fuller and Mikkelsen have exciting projects on the horizon. Mikkelsen will appear in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, set for release on June 30. He is also the lead in the forthcoming Danish film Bastarden (aka The Bastard), expected to premiere in Fall 2023.
