Willow had a brief but memorable run on streaming platforms. Now, you can bring home the iconic characters from the original 1988 film with Funko’s latest Willow Pop! figure collection. This collection features the main trio and one of the evil witch’s henchmen, who embark on a journey to save baby Elora Danan from the clutches of the villainous Bavmorda. Ron Howard directed this beloved fantasy film.
The first figure in the collection is Willow Ufgood, played by Warwick Davis, holding baby Elora. Following him is Sorsha, played by Joanne Whalley, who starts as the daughter of Bavmorda but ultimately turns to the side of good. She is depicted with her hunting armor, sword, and there is also a chase variant of her wearing a warrior’s helmet.
For fans of the swordsman Madmartigan, portrayed by Val Kilmer, he is also part of the collection in his iconic golden armor from the film’s finale, along with his signature sword. Lastly, the collection features the formidable General Kael, Bavmorda’s right-hand man, donning his menacing armor and skull helmet.
Willow‘s Continuing Legacy
The first season of the sequel series Willow premiered on Disney+ in November 2022 and concluded in January 2023. Set several years after the defeat of Queen Bavmorda, the series introduced a new group of heroes who faced their own personal struggles and united to save their world. Despite not attaining the same level of cultural impact as its predecessor, the series had to navigate the changing strategies within Disney’s properties like Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios.
However, series creator Jon Kasdan recently announced that the actors would be free to pursue other projects. In a Twitter statement, he stated, “With all the TV shows and movies being produced worldwide, it’s unfair to limit an actor’s availability without a clear idea of when they’ll be needed again. Furthermore, our scripts require just as many actors from the first season who have no such contractual hold.”
Willow is now available for streaming on Disney+, and the new Funko Pop! figures can be purchased on Funko’s website.
