The announcement of The Elder Scrolls 6 was made five years ago, and during the ongoing trial between the Federal Trade Commission and Microsoft regarding the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Spencer was asked about the game and its platforms. Speaking about its release, Spencer mentioned that it’s difficult to predict the platforms since it’s so far away. “We’re talking about a game that’s five-plus years away,” he said.
In addition, it seems that Spencer is unsure whether he previously made a public statement about the game being exclusive to Xbox. According to reporter Stephen Totilo, Spencer appeared unsure about the platforms and did not specify that it would only be available on Xbox Serie X/S. In court documents, Microsoft has also stated that they anticipate the next generation of consoles to arrive around 2028.
Given the limited information available about The Elder Scrolls 6, it’s not surprising that the release is still far off. The early announcement was likely a way for Bethesda to confirm that they are working on the game and hiring for it.
