Why the Internet Always Coming for Beyoncé’s Children?

Our advice this week: Back up off the Knowles-Carter children.

Beyoncé’s whirlwind week ended with Essence dropping images from its March/April 2024 cover shoot and story promoting Cécred, her new haircare line. The photos are stunning, including one that features what appears to be three generations of Knowles and Knowles- Carter women: mom Tina, Bey, and two of her children, daughters Blue Ivy and Rumi.

Except it turns out the two children in the photo are models, according to a Facebook post from Philip Lewis, Huff Post’s front page editor. It makes sense that the notoriously private and protective when it comes to her kids mama would go this route. Folks have always been cruel about her and Jay-Z’s parenting, something he discussed in Huff Post last year.

The crazy dates back to surrogacy rumors about her first pregnancy reported by NBC to a ridiculous change.org petition, shared by E News in 2014, demanding that the Carters comb then-toddler Blue Ivy’s hair. Most recently, the power couple faced backlash over Blue Ivy’s Grammy’s attire.

True to fashion, Beyonce is being criticized for her choices in this latest photo shoot, too, because apparently there’s an unspoken rule that we must talk out the side of our neck about anything the she does.

Though joydailytv's TikTok post was a positive nod to a family legacy, the post’s comments were largely negative: “Isn’t her son a part legacy the twin the boy what’s wrong with him that he hidden sorry true !!! How could not put your son in photo !!!,” wrote setum1252. “Did her son die or what? Where is he?”

Philip Lewis’ Facebook post about the substitution includes the comments: “That shit not do something that includes all your kids” and “Where is the little boy. Don't see a lot of him. Always the females.”

So far, there’s been no response to this noise from the Carter camp. And since there likely won’t be one, we’ll leave you with Bey’s best lyrical clapback ever: “Always stay gracious. The best revenge is your paper.”
